A Night to Remember by Cara de Philly
On the 3rd April the 5th and 6th Classes of the KSP participated in the 40th anniversary of the National Children’s Choir in St. Canice’s Cathedral, Kilkenny. There were lots of people who volunteered to help out including Mr. Nolan, the conductor, Mrs. Comerford, the pianist and Jackie our secretary, who accompanied us the flute.
In total there were 235 children in the choir from our school, Presentation Primary and St. Canice’s. We sang 15 songs with an interval. During the interval, a brass quintet from Kilkenny College played Viva La Vida and Alleluia. They were really good.
My favourite song was Songs of Ireland because we were all very proud of the song and we put loads of energy into it. The last song was Kusimama which was a good song to end the night on because it’s really energetic and fun.
My whole family came to see me and when it was finished there were so many people you could barely move. Altogether it was a fun night and we got to be with our friends!
We are especially grateful to our teachers Ms Banaghan, Ms Cotter and Ms Rice who taught us this wonderful repertoire of songs. We have worked really hard together since September.
