1st & 5th Class Assembly
Our 1st and 5th Class pupils recently led a special assembly based on the theme “Read Together, Grow Together.” Inspired by World Book Day, the children explored why reading is so important and how education is a right for every child.
During the assembly, pupils reminded us that while we are lucky to have books and schools, many children around the world do not always have the same opportunities. They spoke about human rights, the importance of education, and how reading helps us learn, build confidence, and understand others.
Following the assembly, 1st and 5th Class paired up as reading buddies. The pupils spent time getting to know each other, creating colourful bookmarks together, and sharing stories. The 5th Class students read with and supported their younger partners, helping to build confidence and a love of reading.
This wonderful activity showed that when we read together, we truly grow together—developing friendship, kindness, confidence and leadership across our school community.
